Severance Font

Severance font — DIN 2014 in its base, with a custom Helvetica-adjacent typeface applied in the actual title treatment — is the typographic language of Lumon Industries: geometric, precise, stripped of personality to the point where the absence of personality becomes its own unsettling presence. Ben Stiller’s Apple TV+ 2022 series about employees who undergo a procedure to split their work and personal consciousnesses needed title lettering that could feel both utterly corporate-normal and deeply wrong in a way that takes a moment to identify, and the clinical sans-serif achieves that effect with complete efficiency. The freely available Severance Font Alternative approximates this cold, sterile typographic authority.
