Yellowstone Font

Yellowstone Font is a bold Western display font — the original being Hatch — used in Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network drama that premiered in 2018 with Kevin Costner as John Dutton, patriarch of the largest ranch in Montana, fighting to protect his land against encroachment from property developers, a Native American reservation, and state politicians.

Its strong, frontier-forged letterforms communicate the show’s core themes of territorial ownership and generational legacy — typeface as barbed wire fence, marking what belongs to the Duttons and to no one else. A free alternative is available.
