Fallout Font

Fallout font — a custom typeface inspired by Overseer, with its roots in mid-twentieth-century American industrial lettering — is the typography of a world that stopped progressing technologically in 1950 and then had an apocalypse, leaving a post-nuclear landscape littered with the graphic language of the era: Atomic Age optimism rendered in thick, slightly rounded sans-serif strokes that still read “VAULT-TEC CORPORATION” on crumbling concrete walls and rusted signage decades after the bombs fell. The Amazon Prime adaptation of the beloved game series carried this retro-futurist typographic identity from games to screen with impressive fidelity, understanding that the font is as much a part of the Fallout universe as the bottle caps and the Pip-Boys. The freely available Fallout Font channels this irresistibly bleak midcentury Americana.
