Succession Font

Succession font uses Sackers Gothic — a classical serif typeface whose tall, refined proportions and unhurried spacing communicate exactly the kind of wealth that does not need to announce itself because the rooms it occupies already do that — and the choice is so right for Jesse Armstrong’s HBO series that it functions as a thesis statement about the Roy family before a frame has played. This is old money typography, institutional typography, the typography of boardrooms and legacy newspapers and the kind of legal documents that determine who controls media empires when the patriarch begins to falter. The freely available Succession Font Alternative approximates this cool, patrician typographic authority.
